Ms Suðurland was used as a living facility for workers in the Herring factory at Djúpavík in Strandir around 1950. These ships were not good for the weather that can be expected here in Iceland. I wanted to shoot this boat when I arrived one morning at Djupavík. The weather was bright and there were no clouds in the sky. I shot a few images but they lacked something so I was not satisfied. I came the next day and the weather was similar but now we had some clouds in the sky and I got my image.
